How does Givex support your professional growth and development?
Throughout all the roles I’ve had at Givex, I’ve always felt strong support from upper management. This support has been crucial in helping me find my place and determine what I’m best suited to do. For example, when I started as a Warehouse Assistant, I was encouraged to explore different aspects of the company, which eventually led me to handle POS installations and create training videos for clients. When I transitioned into the Digital Marketing Coordinator role, that same support allowed me to apply my creative skills and delve deeper into digital strategies. Without this kind of backing, it would have been challenging to grow and advance within the company. Givex has always provided the opportunities and guidance I needed to develop both technically and creatively.
Can you share a moment when you felt particularly empowered or supported by your team?
When I first stepped into the Digital Marketing Coordinator role, I had some marketing experience, but I wasn’t certified, and I quickly realized there was still a lot I needed to learn. This year, Givex and my team really had my back. They not only covered the cost of my Digital Marketing certification from the Digital Marketing Institute but also supported me throughout the entire process. Thanks to their support, I was able to enhance my skills and knowledge in digital marketing. I’m especially grateful to Bryan and Joe for encouraging me and the team to keep learning and growing. It was incredible to feel so supported and empowered by them.
What unique skills or perspectives do you bring to your role at Givex?
As a Multimedia Designer at Givex, I bring a diverse set of skills and a willingness to keep learning. One of the things I love most about my job is the freedom to use my creativity and expertise in various projects. My background in multimedia design—including video editing, photography, animation, and website design—really comes in handy. I’ve created multiple videos for our tradeshows that showcase all the products Givex offers, which has been a lot of fun. I also enjoy designing emails and working with my teammates to strategize digital marketing campaigns. Beyond bringing my unique skills and perspectives, I truly appreciate that the team always has an open mind for new ideas, and I feel like my voice is heard. Whether it’s working on the Givex website, handling regional content, making videos, or creating assets, I’m always excited to contribute my perspective, knowing it’s valued.
How has your role evolved since you started working at Givex?
My role at Givex has evolved significantly since I started. I began as a Warehouse Assistant during the pandemic—what was supposed to be a ‘seasonal’ job turned into a full-time position. A few months later, I moved into a Field Service Technician role, where I handled POS installations for clients. This hands-on experience helped me understand our products better. While in that role, I saw the opportunity to apply for the Digital Marketing Coordinator position and got the job. Even though I liked my team and job as a field technician, it wasn’t aligned with what I had studied, and I felt that my skills were better suited to and more valuable in the marketing department. After two years, I was promoted to Multimedia Designer, which has always been my goal and what I went to school for.
When I started this job, I never imagined I would end up working as a Multimedia Designer at Givex. I initially started here because I needed the money to get through the pandemic, but step by step, I found opportunities that matched my skills and knowledge. After almost four years on this journey, I can confidently say there’s no greater pleasure than working on what you love to do, and Givex has provided me with that flexibility.
In what ways has working at Givex as a Multimedia Designer challenged you?
Working at Givex as a Multimedia Designer has definitely challenged me, especially when it comes to managing the Givex website for different regions and languages. Each region, like Brazil, Mexico, the UK, Hong Kong, China, the US, and Australia, specializes in its own products, so our website needs to reflect that uniqueness. It’s been challenging but rewarding to work with different teams to tailor the messaging, imagery, and overall content for each region, ensuring that our website accurately represents Givex to the world.
But honestly, challenges are what make my job, or any job, interesting. If there’s no challenge or opportunity to learn, then it’s time to find something new.
How would you describe your team and everyone else at Givex?
My team at Givex is collaborative, innovative, and driven. Everyone is genuinely committed to pushing the company forward, and there’s a strong sense of camaraderie and support that makes it a great place to work. One of the things I really appreciate about my team is that there’s no micromanagement. There’s full trust that if something needs to get done, it will get done—and that level of trust is rare in all the jobs I’ve had. It’s one of the key reasons why working here is so rewarding.
What made you interested in entering the tech industry?
Honestly, I got into this job because I needed the money to get through the pandemic, just like many others at the time. But after spending a few years here, I’ve come to appreciate how technology can turn creative ideas into real solutions. The tech industry is always evolving, and that keeps things exciting—there’s always something new to learn, and that’s what keeps me hooked.
What’s your favorite memory at Givex?
This is more personal, but my favorite memory was meeting Vanesa, my wife. I’ll always be thankful I took the job as a Warehouse Assistant because that single decision led me to meet the most important person in my life.
