UX/UI/Web Designer (Toronto)

We are looking for an experienced UI/UX designer with a stunning portfolio links to real-world applications that showcase your design versatility and passion for clean, modern layouts.
You understand that mockups provide the visual blueprint for front end development, and you are keen to coordinate the execution of defined layouts with coders as well as providing quick daily updates on the projects you are involved in.
You have some knowledge of HTML5 and CSS3, email design, digital strategy, and you understand the requirements for responsive websites as well as single-page applications (SPA).
While creativity is at the heart of all designs, this is also a practical problem-solving role. Your proficiency will be instrumental in our ability to meet business goals and deliver time-sensitive projects.

Role & Responsibilities
- Work with the digital team leader to translate technical concepts, solutions, and hand sketches into final wireframes and design mockups
- Communicate with front end coders throughout a project to ensure development is on spec with UI/UX decisions and their iterations
- Create original vector graphics for CSS animation
- Create original digital assets for web, email, and sales demos
- Update websites and graphics as needed using in-house CMS
- Provide daily updates on the status of project progress as design concepts are being coded
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- A keen eye for detail and an excellent sensibility for modern design (color, whitespace, fonts)
- Versatility and flexibility in style development (e.g. you can emulate designs styles that may not align to your personal creative vision)
- Ability to prioritize end-user experience and business functional goals over aesthetics alone
- Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud – Photoshop, Illustrator, XD
- Experience using online collaborative design programs such as Figma and InVision
- Knowledge of current web capabilities as well as browser and device limitations
- Knowledge coding HTML5, CSS3, CSS animations, email templates an asset
- Excellent communication, written, and reading comprehension skills
