
Print Production Designer (Toronto)

We are looking for a Print Production Designer with plastic printing experience. If you are comfortable in a fast paced production environment, including artwork preparation/pre-press, you are a perfect fit.
Role & Responsibilities:
- Apply print production knowledge and experience to verify incoming client files (card and/or presenter artwork) meet Givex’s production specifications
- Detect file issues and make recommendations if required
- Communicate directly with client’s creative contact to explain artwork recommendations
- Make corrections and adjustments to client’s artwork, using appropriate software & techniques
- Document production details for each client order internally and communicate to printers
- Prepare card artwork for proofing and process proofing request with printers
- Follow up with printers to ensure timely delivery of data, artwork and labels proofs
- Send proofs directly to clients for review and approval electronically or via courier
- Archive approvals and other relevant documents into the appropriate job docket
- Manage 1-2 printer schedules
- Participate in data and label proof approval process
- Assist with artwork approval / preparation for one-off/individual custom card orders
- Execute creative projects for internal marketing team as needed (e.g.: sell sheets and banners)
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Print production experience is a must
- Ability to apply print production knowledge to a specific type of printing: plastic printing
- Intermediate + skill level with the following programs: Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, QuarkXpress, InDesign, Acrobat
- Experienced in MS Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc)
- Experience with MAC O/S; PC knowledge a plus
- Understanding of the principles and processes involved in executing a design from concept to finished product
- Understanding of fonts and font management
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Energetic and driven with a strong sense of urgency
- Careful attention to accuracy and detail
- Organized and process oriented
- Ability to work independently and to multi-task
- Design/creative sensibility is a plus
