System Administrator (Toronto)

We are committed to maintaining a robust and secure IT infrastructure and are looking for a skilled System Administrator to join our team and play a crucial role in ensuring the integrity, performance, and security of our network and computer systems. Your resourcefulness and problem-solving skills will be essential as you diagnose and resolve issues promptly.

Role & Responsibilities:

• Manage and maintain both on-premises, and various cloud-based infrastructure, ensuring high availability, reliability, and security
• Administering and maintaining both physical and virtualized systems on a variety of platforms including Unix/Linux, Windows, and Apple OS/X
• Administer servers, networks, storage systems, and other IT infrastructure components
• Deploy, configure, and upgrade hardware, software, and operating systems across various platforms
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and perform root cause analysis to identify and resolve problems
• Implement and maintain backup, disaster recovery, and business continuity plans
• Provides 2nd & 3rd level technical support as required by logging, tracking and resolving issues
• Execute configuration changes, patching/upgrading and day-to-day administration/ monitoring of applicable domain technologies
• Participate in on-call rotation for addressing system emergencies outside of regular business hours
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date system documentation
• Conduct regular system updates and patches to enhance performance and security

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
• 5+ years in System Administration, showcasing your prowess in security and Azure administration
• Microsoft Azure certification AZ-104 (minimum)
• Experience with managing Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS GCP, Rackspace) and technologies
• Experience with security monitoring and system hardening
• Knowledge of DNS, SSL, SNMP services
• Strong understanding of ITIL practices
• Application support experience with Windows and/or Linux based systems
• Knowledge of networking concepts and protocols, CCNA or equivalent is an asset
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Bash, Python and Powershell
• Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V etc.)
• Experience with Kubernetes cluster management and deployment (considered an asset)
• Experience with open-source database systems (Posgres, MySQL) (considered an asset)
