Businesses may have a firewall set up to restrict internet traffic on their network for security reasons. Your firewall needs to be configured to allow communication with our datacenter for you to continue using Givex services.
Please send our latest communication HERE to your IT team. They need to follow those directions to ensure you can continue using your Givex services after July 24, 2023.
Many small businesses do not have firewalls. If that is the case, you don’t need to do anything and can continue using Givex services as normal.
If you connect to our Toronto datacenter (known as CANADA1) for processing of your Givex gift cards, loyalty or POS transactions, you may be affected. If your stores have a firewall blocking outgoing traffic, you need to ask your IT team to whitelist the new CANADA1 IP addresses by May 1, 2023. The final deadline for this is July 24, 2023.
If your locations are in USA or Canada, you may be connecting to the affected datacenter (known as CANADA1). If you are unsure, please contact Givex Client Services at dcsupport@givex.odoo.com
After the deadline of July 24, 2023, you may experience disruption to your Givex gift card transactions, loyalty transactions, POS transactions or reporting.
The majority of clients just need to ensure that the new CANADA1 IP addresses are whitelisted on their network by May 1 2023. The final deadline is July 24, 2023. If your stores do not have firewalls blocking outgoing traffic, you do not need to take this action.
However, some clients may need to take additional steps because of how they connect to our datacenters. We strongly recommend that you share our communication with your IT team so they can take any necessary action.
We strongly recommend that you contact your IT team to carry this out. If they have any questions, they can contact Givex Client Services at dcsupport@givex.odoo.com
