IT Support Sales Technician (Gland)

As a Technical Sales & Support Specialist you will be part of our Givex POS and Field Service team which is responsible for installation of POS systems. As well as troubleshoot, repair, or replace various hardware and software components at customer locations.

This role requires driving to various client sites for installations on a daily basis from our location which is why a full driver’s license is a must have.

Role & Responsibilities:

  • Installation of POS systems (cash register, printers, Wi-Fi routers, telephone phones and tablets, etc.) running on Windows and Android
  • Troubleshoot, repair, or replace various hardware and software components at customer locations
  • Troubleshooting network communication problems
  • Hardware configuration for various hardware and software components
  • Hardware pre-deployment setup and testing
  • Customer training, technical support, problem solving and solution focused support
  • Occasional sales presentations to prospective customers
  • Reporting of opportunities to sales team
  • Quote creation and administrative task tracking in internal company ERP system
  • Call support and troubleshooting on Weekends and weeknights
  • On-site service / After-sales service / troubleshooting
  • Support & remote maintenance

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Degree/Diploma from a technical/trades school
  • Experience in the field with 1 year experience
  • Full Driver’s license must have
  • Familiar with the Windows environment
  • Recognized skills in the installation and maintenance of computer equipment ideally cash registers
  • Experience with POS systems is considered an asset
  • Competence in Ethernet networks and routers: implementation of Wifi, configuration of firewalls
  • Excellent knowledge of spoken and written English (Minimum B2), German is an asset
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Confident and comfortable interacting with customers and users
  • Ready to share with a collaborative team
  • Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritize tasks
  • Ability to work well independently and under pressure
  • Capable of diagnosing, troubleshooting, and resolving any issues that may arise
  • Good interpersonal skill
